The obscure artist Minutello has perhaps the most distinctive imagery in the genre. Almost all of his art, which was frequently completed on canvases four or five feet high, combined explicit male nudity with fetishistically extreme stiletto shoes. His work was published by Mavety Media during its creative peak in the 1980s. The art director was at a loss as to how to combine these independently-created paintings with the usual range of gay erotic fiction, so the editor created a feature called “The Minutello Moment,” giving his unique vision a forum.
