(1925-1994)
Astonishingly, Harry Bush was apparently his real name rather than a crude pseudonym. Bush began his career as an erotic artist with the midcentury “beefcake” magazines, and continued into the era of “gay porn” titles. A veteran, he largely isolated himself from the gay community, and destroyed much of his own work, afraid of copyright violation. However, the book Harry Bush: Hard Boys, from Green Candy Press, is a nicely produced volume with numerous examples of his work, which was usually black and white graphite images. As seen here, he also worked in colored pencil.
